10. In whose hands is wickedness: and their right hand is full of gifts.

11. But as for me, I will walk innocently: O deliver me, and be merciful unto me.

PRAYER.

OST Merciful GOD, Who wilt be sanctified in the hearts of those who come nigh Thee, give me Thy Grace and HOLY SPIRIT, that obeying Thy Son's command, I may be a partaker of His most Blessed Body and Blood. Throughout this my duty and service set forth before mine eyes my Crucified LORD. Bring all His love to my remembrance, and keep out of my heart all that would distract it from Him. Deliver me from the sin of eating and drinking unworthily, lest I receive judgment instead of blessing. Save me from a light and irreverent, as well as from a carnal and worldly spirit. Give me, I humbly entreat Thee, all the benefits which my Saviour designed by this Sacrament to convey to His people. Teach me so to discern the Lord's Body, that He Himself may be made known to me in the breaking of Bread. May the power of His Crucified and Risen Body be effectual to the complete mortification within me of all sin (especially ] and to the strengthening of my faith and the deepening of my love to Thee, and to my Christian brethren. Grant this, O FATHER, for the same Thy Son JESUS CHRIST'S sake. Amen.

ON TAKING YOUR PLACE IN CHURCH.

PSALM XLIII. Judica me, Deus.

IVE sentence with me, O God, and defend my cause against the ungodly people: O deliver me from the deceitful and wicked

man.

2. For Thou art the God of my strength, why hast Thou put me from Thee: and why go I so heavily, while the enemy oppresseth me?

3. O send out Thy light and Thy truth, that they may lead me: and bring me unto Thy holy hill, and to Thy dwelling.

4. And that I may go unto the altar of God, even unto the God of my joy and gladness: and upon the harp will I give thanks unto Thee, O God, my God.

5. Why art thou so heavy, O my soul: and why art thou so disquieted within me?

6. O put thy trust in God: for I will yet give Him thanks, which is the help of my countenance, and my God.

Glory be to the Father, &c.

HYMN.

UTHOR of Life Divine,
Who hast a table spread
Furnished with mystic Wine
And everlasting Bread ;

Preserve the Life Thyself hast given,
And feed, and train us up for Heaven.

2. Our needy souls sustain
With fresh supplies of love,
Till all Thy Life we gain

WE

And all Thy Fulness prove;

And strengthened by Thy perfect Grace,
Behold without a veil Thy Face.

PRAYER.

E supplicate and entreat Thy Goodness that this Mystery, planned for our salvation, may not be to the condemnation of any of these Thy people, but to the blotting out of sin, and to the renewal of soul and body. May all our service be well pleasing to Thee our GOD and FATHER, through the mercy and love towards men of Thine Only-Begotten Son JESUS CHRIST.

O King of peace, give us Thy peace, keep us in love and charity; be our GOD, for we know none beside Thee, we call upon Thy Name: Grant unto our souls the life of righteousness, that the death of sin may not prevail against us or any of Thy people.

If among those who come to be partakers of the Holy Communion, the Minister shall know any to be an open and notorious evil liver, or to have done any wrong to his neighbours by word or deed, so that the Congregation be thereby offended; he shall advertise him, that he presume not to come to the Lord's Table, until he have openly declared himself to have truly repented and amended his former evil life, that the Congregation may thereby be satisfied; and that he hath recompensed the parties to whom he hath done wrong; or at least declare himself to be in full purpose so to do, as soon as he conveniently

may.

The same order shall the Minister use with those betwixt whom he perceiveth malice and hatred to reign; not suffering them to be partakers of the Lord's Table, until he know them to be reconciled. And if one of the tarties, so at variance, be content to forgive from the bottom of his heart all that the other hath trespassed against him, and to make amends for that wherein he himself hath offended; and the other party will not be persuaded to a godly unity, but remain still in his frowardness and malice; the Minister in that case ought to admit the penitent person to the Holy Communion, and not him that is obstinate. Provided, that every Minister so repelling any, as is herein specified, shall be obliged to
