It Those who pretend to Inspiration declare nothing bub & hat is revealed in the Gospel already, their Inspiration is needleft: If They declare any thing contrary thereto, we are suficiersly cautions against them: If any thing besides the Revelation of the Gospel, but not contrary to it, them. HE Subftance of the following Difcourfe was at first drawn up in the Form of Two SERMON S, which were delivered at Twickenham firft, and next at Windfor. Having been feverally press'd by fome of both Audiences (whofe Judgments I ought to value) to let the Two Sermons appear, I fell to tranfcribing, digefting, and enlarging them, till they turn'd out fuch as is here Jeen. And I thought it not improper to fuperadd, at the bottom of the Pages, a convenient Number of Authorities, or explanatory Notes, for the Ufe of fuch learned Readers as may be difpofed to examine Things with Care, or may be inquifitive to know from whence many of the Thoughts were taken, or on what Foundation they ftand. This is all that I conceiv'd neceffary to advertise the Reader.
