ORASMUCH as ma-
ny have taken in hand

to set forth in order a de

claration of those things which are most surely believed among us,

க. அதிகாரம். மிகுந்த கனம்பொருந்திய தே யோபபிலுவே! எங்களுக்குள்ளே நி றைவேறின சங்கதிகளை ஆதிமுதற் கண்ணினாலே (கண்டு சுவிசேஷ) வச னத்தைப் போதித்திருக்கிறவர்கள் எங்களுக்கு, ஒப்புக் கொடுத்த்தின் படியே,

2 Even as they delivered உ அவைகளைக்குறித்து, சரித்தி them unto us, which from ரததையெழுதும்படிக்கு, அநேகர் the beginning were eye - துணிந்தார்கள். witnesses, and ministers of the word;

3 It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus,

4 That thou mightest know the certainty of those things, wherein thou hast

been instructed.

HERE in the

king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia : and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elizabeth.

ங ஆகையால், ஆதிமுதல எல்லா வற்றையும் நன்றாய் ஆராய்ந்து பா ர்த்த நானும் உமக்குபதேசிக்கப் பட்ட பொருள்களின் நிச்சயத்தை நீர் அறியும்படிக்கு,

ச அவைகளை யொழுங்காய் உ மக கழுத வேண்டுமென்று எனக்கு நன்றாய்த் தோன்றிற்று. (அவையா 1 OOT,)

ரு இயூதேயாதேசத்தின் இரா சாவாகிய எரோதேயின் நாள்களி லே அபீயா என்னும் ஆசாரியவகு பபிற் சகரியாவென்னப்பட்ட ஆசா ரியன இருந்தான். ஆரோனின் ம்பத்திற் பிறந்த எலிசபேத்தென னபபடடவள வனுக்கு மனைவி யாயிருந்தாள ள்.

Lord blameless.

7 And they had no child, because that Elizabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

அ அப்படியிருக்குங்காலத்தில், 8 And it came to pass, அவன் தன் ஆசாரிய வகுப்பின்மு றைமைக்குத் தக்கதாக, பராபர னுக்குமுன்பாக ஆசாரிய ஊழியஞ செய்து வருகிறபொழுது,

கூ ஆசாரியருடைய வழக்கத்தி ன்படியவன் தூபங்கொடுக்கி கு, சீட்டைப்பெற்றுத் தேவாலய த்திற் பிரவேசித்தான்.

கூட்டமான

ய தூபங்கொடுக்கிற வேளையிலே சனங்களெல்லாரும் புறம்பே செபம்பண்ணிக்கொண்டி ருந்தார்கள்.

யக அப்பொழுது பராபரனு டைய தூதனொருவன் தூபபீடததி ன்வலது பக்கத்திலே நின்று, அவனு க்குக்காணப்பட்டான்.

யஉ சகரியா அவனைக்கண்டு கல ங்கிப்பயம் அடைந்தான்.

யங தூதன் அவனை நோக்கி, சக ரியாவே, நீ பயப்பட வேண்டாம். உன் விண்ணபபங் கேட்கப்பட்ட து. உன்மனைவியாகிய எலிசபேத து ஒருகுமாரனைப்பெறுவாள். அவ னுக்கு இயோவானென்றுபேரிடுவா

that while he executed the priest's office before God in the order of his course,

9 According to the custom of the priest's office,

his lot was to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.

10 And the whole multitude of the people were praying without at the time

of incense.

11 And there appeared unto him an angel of the Lord standing on the right side of the altar of incense.

12 And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him.

13 But the angel said anto him, Fear not, Zacharias : for thy prayer is heard ; and thy wife Elizabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name

John.

யச அவனா னக்குச் சந்தோஷ 14 And thou shalt have முங் களிப்புமுண்டாகும். அவனு joy and gladness ; and maடைய பிறப்பைக்குறித்து அநேகர் ny shall rejoice at his birth. சந்தோஷப்படுவார்கள்.

யரு என்னத்தினாலெனில், அவன் 15 For he shall be great பராபரனுக்கு முன்பாகப்பெரியவ in the sight of the Lord, ய்த்திராட்ச இரசத்தையும், மது பானத்தையுங் குடியாமல் தன்தா பின்வயிற்றிலே பரிசுத்த ஆவியினா லே நிரப்பப்பட்டிருப்பான்.

and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink ; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother's womb.

யஎ பி தாக்களுடைய ருத fore him in the spirit and களைப்பிள்ளைகளிடத்திற்கும், கீழ்ப் power of Elias, to turn the படியாதவர்களை நீதிமான்களுடை
