ஙக அல்லது எந்த இராசாவா 31 Or what king, going னாலும் மற்றொரு இராசனுடனே to make war against another யுத்தஞ்செய்யப்போகிறதற்குமுன king, sitteth not down first, பு, உளுக்காந்து தனக்கு விரோத and consulteth whether he மாய் இருபதினாயிரஞ் சேவகரைக் be able with ten thousand கொண்டுவருகிறவனோடே பதினாயி to meet him that cometh a ரஞ் சேவகரைக்கொண்டு எதி க gainst him with twenty thouக்கூடுமா கூடாதாவென்று ஆலோ sand?

ஙஉ கூடாதென்று அறிந்தால், அவன் தூரத்திலிருக்கையில் தானா பதிகளையனுப்பிச் சமாதானத்துக் காகக் கேட்டுக் கொள்ளும்படிக்கு, (அப்படிச்) செய்வானல்லவா.

ஙங அதுபோல், உங்களிலெவனா னாலுந் தனக்குண்டான எல்லாவற் றையும் வறுத்துவிடாவிட்டால், என் சீஷனாயிருக்கமாட்டான்.

33 So likewise, whoso ever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.

ஙசா உப்பானது நல்லதுதான்.

34 Salt is good : but if

35 It is neither fit for the

உப்பானது சாரமற்றுப்போனால் the salt have lost his saஎதினாலே அது சாரமாக்கப்படும். vour wherewith shall it be ஙரு அது நல்ல நிலத்திலாகிலும் seasoned? எருவிலாகிலும் போடப்படத் தக கதல்ல, அதைவெளியே கொட்டி பபோடுவார்கள். கேட்கிறதற்குக் காதுள்ளவன் கேட்கக்கடவனென றார்.

land, nor yet for the dung hill: but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

அ ன்றியுஞ் சகல ஆயக்காரரு ம் பாவிகளும் அவருடைய வசனங் களைக்கேட்கும் படிக்கு அவரிடத திற்சேர்ந்தார்கள்.

உ அப்பொழுது பரிசேயரும வேதபாரகரும் மொறுமொறுத்து இவர் பாவிகளையேற்றுக் கொண்டு, அவர்களோடே சாப்பிடுகிறாரென றார்கள்.

32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.

CHAPTER XV.

THE

HEN drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.

2 And the pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

யசு அப்பொழுது பன்றிகள் தி ன்னுகிற தவிடுகளினாலே தன்வயிற றை நிரப்ப ஆசைப்பட்டான. அ வற்றையும் ஒருவனும் அவனுக்குக் கொடுக்கவில்லை.

யஎ அப்படியிருக்குங் காலத்தி ல் அவன்புத்தியடைந்து சொன்ன தாவது, ஆ, எனதகப்பனிடத்திலே எத்தனை கூலிக்காரர் மிகுந்த உண வையுடையவர்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள். நான் இங்கே பசியினாலே கெட்டுப போகிறேன்.

யஅ நான் எழுந்து, எனதகப்ப னிடத்துக்குப்போய்த் தகபபனே, தேவனுக்கும் உமக்கும் விரோத மாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்தேன்.

14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land ; and he began to be in want.

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country ; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my Father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

18 I will arise and go to my Father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sin ned against heaven, and be

fore thee.

யாகூ இதுமுதல நான் உமமுடை ய குமாரனென்றழைக்கப்படுவதற் கு அபாத்திரனாயிருக்கிறேன். உம முடைய கூலிக்காரரிலொருவனைப் போல என்னை வைத்துக்கொள்ளு மென்று சொல்ல வேண்டுமென எண்ணி,

உய எழுந்து புறப்பட்டுத்தன்த கப்பனிடத்துக்குப்போனான். அப் பொழுது அவன் தூரமாயிருக்கை யில் தகப்பன் அவனைக்கண்டு, உரு ககமாயிரங்கி ஒடிவந்து, அவனு டைய கழுத்தைக்கட்டிக்கொண்டு அவனை முத்தஞ்செய்தான்.

உக குமாரன் அவனை நோக்கி, தகப்பனே, தேவனுக்கும் உமக்கும் விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ் செய்தேன். துமுதல் உம்முடையகுமாரனெ அழைக்கப்படுவதற்கு நான் பாத்திரனல்ல வென்று சொன்ன பொழுது,

உஉ தகப்பன் தன் வேலைக்கார ரைநோக்கி, நீங்கள் (போய்) முக கியமான வஸ்திரத்தைக் கொண்டு வந்து இவனுக்குடுத்தி இவனுடை ய கைக்கு மோதிரத்தையுங் கால் களுக்குப் பாத் இரட்சைகளையுங் கொடுத்து,

உங பின்பு கொழுத்த கன்றைக் கொண்டுவந்தடித்துச்சமையுஙகள்

உச என் குமாரனாகிய இவன் ம ரித்தான், மறுபடியும உயிரோடி ருக்கிறான். வன காணாமற் போனா ன், இப்பொழுதுகாணப்பட்டான். ஆகையால் நாம் புசித்து, மகிழ்ச் சியா யிருக்கக்கடவோ மென்றான். அந்தப்படியவர்கள் சந்தோஷப்ப டத்தொடங்கினார்கள்.

25 Now his elder son was in the field and as he came and drew nigh to the house,

உரு அவனுடைய மூத்த குமார ன் வயலிலிருந்தான். அவன்திரும்பி வீட்டுக்குச் சமீபமாய் வந்த பொ

he heard music and dancing.ழுது, கீதவாத்தியத்தையும் நடனக்

களிப்பையுங்கேட்டு,

26 And he called one of உசா வேலைக்காரரில் ஒருவனைய

ழைத்து, இதெனனவென்று விசா theservants, and asked what ரித்தான். these things meant.

உஎ வேலைக்காரன் அவனை நோ ககி, உன் சகோதரன் வந்தான். உன் தகப்பன் அவனைச் சுகத்தோடே

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the திருமபப்பெற்றுக்கொண்டபடியி fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

னாலே கொழுத்தகன்றை யடிப்பித தானென்றான்.

உஅ அப்பொழுது அவன் கோ பம் அடைந்து, உள்ளே போகமன தில்லாதிருந்தான். ஆதலால் தகப பன்வெளியே வந்து, அவனைமிகவும வேண்டிக்கொண்டழைத்தான்.

உகூ அவன் தகப்பனுக்குப் பிர யுத்தரமாகச் சொன்னது; இவ் வளவுவருஷம் நான் உமக்கூ ழியஞ செய்து, உமது கற்பனையை ஒரு க்காலும் மீறிநடக்கவில்லை. அப்ப டியிருந்தும், நான் என் சிநேகித ரோடே மகிழ்ச்சியா யிருக்கும்படி க்கு, ஒருக்காலும் நீர் ஒரு ஆட்டுக குட்டியை எனக்குக் கொடுக்கவில் லையே.

நய உமமுடைய பொருள்களை வேசிகளோடேபட்சித்த உமது கு மாரனாகிய இவன் வந்த பொழுது, கொழுத்த கன்றை வனுக்காக அ டிப்பித்தீரென்றான்.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in ; therefore came his father out, and intreated him.

அன்றியும் அவர் தமமுடைய சீஷரோடு சொன்னதாவது; ஐசுவ

29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make mermy friends :

30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou has killed for him the fatted calf.

நக அதற்குத்தகப்பனசொன்ன மகனே, நீ யெப்பொழுதும என்னோடிருக்கிறாய். அல்லாமலும் எனக்குண்டானயாவும் உன்னுடை யவைகளாயிருக்கின்றன.

32 It was meet that we

கூஉ உன் சகோதரனாகிய இவன் மரித்தான், மறுபடியும் உயிரோ டிருக்கிறான். காணாமற் போனான,

should make merry, and be glad; for this thy brother (இப்பொழுது) காணப்பட்டான். was dead, and is alive again; ஆனபடியினாலே நாம் மகிழ்ச்சியா and was lost, and is found. கிக்களிப்படைய வேண்டுமேயென று சொன்னானென்றார்.

31 And he said unto him Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
