that Part of the United Kingdom called England, until fuch time
as the Holders of fuch Treafury Bills fhall be paid their Principal
Money, with all Intereft remaining due thereon, at One entire Pay-
ment, at the faid Bank of England.

VIII. And be it further enacted, That the proper Officers of His Majefty's Exchequer in Ireland be and they are hereby authorized and required to obey all fuch Orders, as to the Iffue and Delivery of fuch Treafury Bills as fhall be required to be tranfmitted to England, as they fhall from time to time receive from the Lord High Treasurer, or Commiffioners for executing the Office of Lord High Treasurer of Ireland.

WE, Your United Kingdom of Great Britain and

E, Your Majefty's moft dutiful and loyal Subje&s, the

Ireland, in Parliament affembled, being defirous of raising the neceffary Supplies which we have cheerfully and voluntarily granted to Your Majefty in this Seffion of Parliament, have refolved that a Sum not exceeding One million feven hundred thoufand Pounds British Currency be raised by Treafury Bills in Ireland, in manner hereinafter mentioned ;' And do therefore most humbly befeech Your Majefty that it may be enacted; and be it enacted by The King's Moft Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, Irish Treasury That it fhall and may be lawful for the Lord High Treasurer of may iffue Bills Ireland for the time being, or for the Commiffioners of His Majetty's to a certain Ex- Treafury of Ireland, or any Three or more of them, now or for

the time being, if he or they fhall judge it advifeable, at any time or times after the paffing of this Act, by and with the Confent and Approbation of the Lord Lieutenant, or other Chief Governor or Governors of Ireland for the time being, to prepare and make and iffue, or caufe to be prepared or made and issued, any Number of Bills entitling the Bearer to the Sum or Sums refpectively fpecified therein, (not exceeding in the whole the Amount hereinafter mentioned and directed,) and declaring fuch Sum or Sums to be payable, or fuch Bills to pafs current at the Receipt of His Majefty's Exchequer of Ireland, at fuch time and times as fhall be directed by the faid Lord High Treasurer or Commiffioners of the Treasury for the time being, or any Three of them, by and with the Confent and Approbation of the Lord Lieutenant or other Chief Governor or Governors of Ireland for the time being, and as fhall be expreffed in fuch Bills refpectively; and fuch Bills fhall bear an Intereft not exceeding the Rate of Five Pounds per Centum per

Annum ;

greffion, beginning with Number One.

II. Provided always, and be it enacted, That nothing herein Bills iffued not contained fhall extend or be conftrued to extend, to authorize the to exceed faid Lord High Treasurer, or Commiffioners of the Treafury in 1,700,000l. Ireland, to iffue any fuch Bills under this Act, to any Amount exceeding in the whole the Sum of One million seven hundred thousand Pounds British Currency; and that fuch Bills fhall be iffued for fo much only of the faid Sum of One million seven hundred thousand Pounds British Currency as fhall be actually paid by any Perfon or Perfons into the Receipt of His Majefty's Exchequer of Ireland, at the Inftance or by and with the Confent and Approbation of the Lord Lieutenant or other Chief Governor or Governors of Ireland for the time being, and of the Lord High Treafurer or Commiffioners of the Treafury of Ireland, or any Three of them now or for the time being; and that the Intereft on the faid Bills, not exceed. ing Five Pounds per Centum per Annum, fhall commence from the iffing thereof refpectively, and fhall be paid to the Person or Perfons entitled thereto, without any Fee or Charge, and free from all Deductions whatfoever; and that every fuch Bill fo to be iffued for the faid Sum of One million seven hundred thousand Pounds British Currency, or any Part thereof as aforefaid, fhall or may, on or after fuch time or times as fhall be appointed by the faid Lord High Treafurer for the time being, or by the faid Commiffioners of the Treafury now or for the time being, or any Three of them, by and with the Confent and Approbation of the Lord Lieutenant or other Chief Governor or Governors of Ireland for the time being, if not fooner paid off, be received and taken by and be current to any Receiver or Collector in Ireland of the Cuftoms, Excife or any Revenue, Aid or Tax in Ireland, for and in Satisfaction of any Cuftom, Excife or any Aid, Revenue or Tax, then or thereafter refpectively to become due or payable to His Majefty, his Heirs and Succeffors, in Ireland, and shall be taken, pafs and be current at the Receipt of His Majesty's Exchequer of Ireland, from every fach Receiver or Collector, for or in refpect of the Cuftoms, Excife or any Revenue, Aid or Tax by him collected or received, at or after fach time or times fo to be appointed as aforefaid.

III. And be it further enacted, That as foon as any of the faid and Intereft Treasury Bills, which fhall or may be iffued in pursuance of this fhall cease. Act, shall be received by any Receiver or Collector, pursuant to the Provifions of this A&t, all Interest shall ceafe from the Day of such Receipt, and fhall be no longer payable thereon, and the fame, when paid by fuch Receiver or Collector into the Receipt of His Majefty's Exchequer of Ireland, fhall be cancelled.

IV. And be it further enacted, That all the Monies to be received ender or by virtue of this Act shall be paid into the Receipt of His Majesty's Exchequer at Dublin, and fhall be carried to and form Part of the Confolidated Fund of Ireland.

V. And be it further enacted, That all the faid Treasury Bills, Bills to be
and all Intereft thereon, or which fhall become payable in refpect chargeable
of the faid Sum of One million feven hundred thoufand Pounds thereon.

VI. And be it further enacted, That it fhall and may be lawful or Bank of Eng for the Governor and Company of the Bank of Ireland, or the Governor and Company of the Bank of England, to advance or lend to His Majefty, at the Receipt of His Exchequer in Dublin, or at the Receipt of His Majefty's Exchequer in London, any Sum or Sums of Money, not exceeding in the whole the Amount of One million feven hundred thoufand Pounds British Currency, any Ac or Acts to the contrary notwithstanding; fo that no greater or higher Sum, by way of Intereft, Difcount, Gratuity or other Confideration, fhall be demanded or taken by fuch or any of the faid Governors and Companies refpectively, or by any Perfon on their Behalf, than at the Rate of Five Pounds per Centum per Annum for any Money fo advanced.

An Act for making certain Allowances of the Duties payable on
Malt and Beer.

43 G. 3. c. 81. WHEREAS by an Act made in the Forty third Year of the Reign of His prefent Majefty, intituled An Ad for granting to His Majefly, until Twelve Months after the Ratification of the Definitive Treaty of Peace, certain additional Duties of Excife in Great Britain, certain additional Duties were impofed upon Malt which would have expired at a certain limited time after the Ratification of the Definitive Treaty of Peace had not the fame been continued: And Whereas the fame were, by a certain A& • made in the Fifty fourth Year of the Reign of His prefent Majefty, continued until and upon the Fifth Day of July One thoufand eight hundred and fifteen; and by another Act made in the Fifty fifth Year of the Reign of His prefent Majefty, were and are further continued until and upon the Fifth Day of July One thousand ⚫ eight hundred and fixteen, and will then expire: And Whereas it is 'expedient to grant an Allowance of the faid additional Duties in manner hereinafter mentioned;' Be it therefore enacted by The King's Molt Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Con fent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in thi prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame

That there fhall be paid or allowed to every Maltfter or Maker of Malt for Sale, Seller or Retailer of Malt, Common Brewer, Diftiller, Victualler and Vinegar Maker, for all dry unground Malt which he, the or they fhall produce to the Sight of the Officer or Officers of Excife in his, her or their Stock, Cuftody or Poffeffion, and which fhall be taken an Account of, and the Quantity thereof ascertained by fuch Officer or Officers in manner hereinafter mentioned, between the First Day of July One thoufand eight hundred and fixteen and the Seventh Day of July One thoufand eight hundred and fixteen, and for which the faid Duties fhall have been charged or paid, the feveral Allowances and Sums of Money following; (that is to fay),

Allowances for unground Malt Officer between produced to 1ft and 7th July.

For every Bushel of dry unground Malt afcertained as herein- Allowances for after mentioned, made in that Part of Great Britain called England, Malt. from Barley, or any other Corn or Grain, Two Shillings:

Bushel of dry unground Malt afcertained as hereinafter mentioned, made in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland, from Barley or any other Corn or Grain, except Beer or Bigg, Two Shillings:

For every Bufhel of dry unground Malt afcertained as hereinafter mentioned, made in that Part of Great Britain called Scotland, from Beer or Bigg only, without any Mixture of Barley, or any other Corn or Grain therewith, One Shilling and Four pence.

II. And be it further enacted, That no Maltfter or Maker of Malt for Sale, Seller or Retailer of Malt, Common Brewer, Distiller, Victualler or Vinegar Maker, fhall have or be entitled to any Allowance, unless he, fhe or they fhall refpectively give Notice in Writing two Days previous to the First Day of July One thousand eight hundred and fixteen, to the proper Officer of Excife, of his, her or their Name and Place of Abode, and also of the particular Houfe, Outhoufe, Barn or other Place where any dry unground Malt for or in refpect of which he, fhe or they intends or intend to claim any fuch Allowance, fhall be kept, laid or depofited, and unless he, the or they fhall alfo, before the faid Firft Day of July One thousand eight hundred and fixteen, place all fuch Malt for or in respect of which he, fhe or they intends or intend to claim any fuch Allowance as fhall then be actually dried, fcreened, cleaned and finished, into fuch Form as fhall enable the Officer or Officers of Excife conveniently to gauge, take an Account of, and afcertain the Quantity thereof; and in cafe any Corn or Grain which fhall be in Operation for the making thereof into Malt upon any of those refpective Days before mentioned fhall be actually made into Malt, dried, screened, cleaned and finished by any Maltfter or Maker of Malt before the time when the Officer or Officers of Excife fhall firft take an Account of the dry unground Malt, in the Stock, Cuftody or Poffeffion of fuch Maker of Malt; or in cafe any dry unground Malt fhall be brought by Water under the Regulations in this Act contained, and fhall be delivered into the Stock of any fuch Maltfter or Maker of Malt for Sale, Seller or Retailer of Malt, Common Brewer, Dif tiller, Victualler or Vinegar Maker, before the Officer or Officers shall have firft taken fuch Account thereof as aforefaid, then and in every fuch cafe no fuch Maltfter or Maker of Malt for Sale, Seller or Retailer of Malt, Common Brewer, Diftiller, Victualler or Vinegar Maker, fhall have or be entitled to any fuch Allowance in refpect of

fuch Malt, unless he, fhe or they fhall give previous Notice in Writing by the Space of Twelve Hours to the proper Officer of Excife, of his, her or their Intention to claim fuch Allowance in respect of fuch Malt, fpecifying the Quantity thereof, and of the Place wher fuch Malt fhall be kept or depofited, and fhall place and keep al fuch Malt in the like Form, but feparate and apart from all othe Malt, fo that the Officer or Officers of Excife may conveniently take fuch Account thereof, as is by this A&t directed.

III. And be it further enacted, That after any Malt, for or in refpect of which any fuch Allowance may be claimed, fhall have been placed in fuch Form as is directed by this A&t, no Maltster or Maker of Malt for Sale, Seller or Retailer of Malt, Common Brewer, Distiller, Victualler or Vinegar Maker, fhall, on any Pretence what ever, alter the Pofition thereof, until Six Days after the Officer fhall have first gauged and taken his Account thereof; and that no Maltfter or Maker of Malt for Sale, Seller or Retailer of Malt, Common Brewer, Distiller, Victualler or Vinegar Maker, fhall remove, carry or fend away, or caufe or procure to be removed, carried or fent away, any fuch Malt from the House, Outhouse, Barn or other Place in which the fame fhall have been fo gauged, or an Account taken thereof, until Six Days after the Officer fhall have firft gauged and taken his Account thereof; and if any fuch Maltiter or Maker of Malt for Sale, Seller or Retailer of Malt, Common Brewer, Distiller, Victualler or Vinegar Maker, fhall, contrary to the Directions of this Act, alter the Pofition of any fuch Malt, for or in refpect of which he, fhe or they fhall claim any fuch Allowance, the Perfon or Perfons fo offending fhall, for each and every fuch Offence, forfeit the Sum of Two hundred Pounds; and if any Maltfter or Maker of Malt for Sale, Seller or Retailer of Malt, Common Brewer, Distiller, Victualler or Vinegar Maker, shall remove, carry or fend away, or caufe or procure to be removed, carried or fent away, any fuch Malt, contrary to the Directions of this Act, he, fhe or they fhall forfeit the Penalty of Two hundred Pounds, and all Right, Title or Claim to any Allowance which he, fhe or they might otherwife have been entitled to under or by virtue of this Act, for or in refpect of any of the Malt in his, her or their Stock, Cuftody or Poffeffion: Provided always nevertheless, that all Common Brewers, Distillers, Victuallers and Vinegar Makers, who fhall give to the Officer or Officers of Excife, under whofe Survey he, fhe or they fhall then be, previous Notice in Writing by the Space of Twenty four Hours of his, her or their Intention to make ufe of any fuch Malt, fo that the Officer may attend and take an Account of and afcertain the true Quantity thereof, fpecifying in fuch Notice the Quantity fo intended to be used, fhall be at Liberty to make ufe of fuch Quantity of his, her or their Malt, for or in refpect of which he, fhe or they fhall claim any fuch Allowance without being liable to the Forfeitures laft aforefaid, or either of them, any Thing hereinbefore contained to the contrary in anywife notwithstanding, fo as the Refidue of fuch Malt shall be left unaltered, and in fuch Form and Pofition as to enable the Officer or Officers of Excife to gauge, take Account of and afcertain the Quantity thereof, in the manner hereinbefore directed.

IV. And be it further enacted, That it fhall and may be lawful to and for all and every the Officer and Officers of Excife, at his
