Phases of my Life.

2

By the Very Rev. F. PIGOU, Dean of Bristol.

With Photogravure Portrait. Third Edition.

One vol., demy 8vo., 16s.

'A book about two-thirds of which is packed with funny stories about the clergy and the Churches.'-Daily News.

'The Dean of Bristol has a rich store of anecdotes. Story succeeds story with delightful ease.'-Standard.

A volume which abounds in humour that may be appreciated by every reader, and yet can offend nobody. In short, it is every bit as entertaining as the biography of Archbishop Magee, and to say that is enough to commend it to a wide circle of readers.'-Scotsman.

'Dean Pigou's reminiscences are so full of good things that it would be possible to fill a dozen numbers of Tit Bits from this book alone. The whole effect of the book is extremely racy.'Yorkshire Post.

The Life of Henry Morley.

By the Rev. H. S. SOLLY.

With Photogravure Portrait. One vol., large 8vo., 12s. 6d.

The late Professor Henry Morley is best remembered for the great services he rendered to secondary and higher education, and for his successful endeavours to spread among the people an acquaintance with the English classic writers. The record of his life is certain to be welcome to the many students in every part of the United Kingdom who have valued his teaching and lectures at King's College, and when he filled the University Chair of English Literature at Edinburgh, or later at University College. But his diaries and letters will appeal to a still wider audience, with their record of his early struggles, his journalistic career as a contributor to Household Words, Fraser's, the Examiner, etc., and his friendship with Forster, Douglas Jerrold, and Charles Dickens.

During the Campaigns of the 93rd Highlanders in India, under
Colin Campbell, Lord Clyde, in 1857, 1858, 1859.

By Lieutenant-Colonel W. G. ALEXANDER.

Plans. One vol., demy 8vo., 16s.

Colonel Alexander was actively engaged with his regiment in the relief of
Lucknow, and in the subsequent Oudh campaign. He records his experiences
from a diary which he kept throughout that time, and thus his account of the
Mutiny, and of his experiences during it, has the charm of the feelings and
opinions of an actor in the events noted while they were occurring.
