The Lord Lieutenant's Anfwer to the House of Com mon's Addrefs to his Majesty.

Will take the first Opportunity to tranfmit this Loyal and dutiful Addrefs to his Majesty.

The fame Day (November 30th) both Houfes † prefented their refpective Addreffes to the Lord Lieutenant, as follows.

The humble Addrefs of the Lords Spiritual and Tem-
poral in Parliament affembled.

May it please your Excellency,

WE E the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parlia ment affembled, beg Leave to return our most fincere Thanks for your excellent Speech delivered from the Throne to both Houses of Parliament.

We take this first Opportunity of condoling with your Excellency on the Lofs of our late moft gracious King, of glorious Memory, which could be only repai red by his Majefty's Acceffion to the Throne of His Royal Ancestors; and to affure your Excellency, that the Zeal which we have ever exprefs'd for the Suc ceffion of his Royal Houfe, will make us always continue the fame unfhaken Loyalty to his Majesty, which we on all Occafions manifested to his Royal Father

His Majesty's moft gracious Declaration, That our Conftitution in Church and State fhall be his first and always his chief Care; and the good Opinion he hath been pleafed to exprefs of the Loyalty and Affection of his Subjects of Ireland, are till further Engage ments to us to proceed with the greatest Chearfulness and Unanimity to fupport his Majesty's Government, We fhall take into Confideration the making and continuing fuch Laws as fhall be found neceffary for the Encouragement of our Manufactures, the Employ ment of the Poor, and the general good of this Coun try; and for enforcing thofe that relate to the Secu rity of the Publick, and the preventing Popish Priests and Regulars coming into this Kingdom.

The Experience we have had of your Excellency's former Adminiftration, makes your Return to the Go vernment highly acceptable; and as we must always acknowledge it as a great Inftance of his Majesty's Grace and Favour to us, fo the being fucceffively em ployed by two great Kings, is your Excellency's peculiar Honour.

Your known Goodnefs and Candor leave us no Rocni to doubt of your Excelleney's continuing to reprefent in the strongest Light to his Majefty, the Duty, Loyalty and Affection of his faithful Subjects of Ireland. The Lord Lieutenant's Anfwer to the Lords Addrefs to his Excellency.

WE

E his Majefty's most dutiful and loyal Subjects; the Commons of Ireland in Parliament affembled, attend your Excellency with the greatest Acknowledge ments for your Speech from the Throne to both Hoyfes of Parliament.

The unexpected Death of our late moft gracious Sovereign affected this Nation with an univerfal Concern, and we fhall ever retain a moft grateful Senfe of the many Bleffings we enjoyed during the whole Courfe of his glorious Reign: But his Majesty's happy Acceflion to the Throne has repaired this Lofs; and his early Zeal in Defence of the Liberties of Europe, his Affurances to make it his first and always his chief Cire to preferve our happy Conflitution as now established, and that tender Regard which he has fhewn for the Welfare of all his Subjects, fill our Hearts with the most affured Hopes of as great Felicity Eeeez

as thefe Kingdoms have ever enjoyed under the most glorious of his Ancestors.

We cannot fufficiently exprefs the juft Senfe we have of the eminent Virtues of our most gracious Queen; and it is the highest Satisfaction to us, that the Prote ftant Succeffion is fecured to our Pofterity by a numerous Royal fue formed and instructed by fo great Examples.

As we reflect with the greatest Pleaíure on the Advantages we have enjoyed under your former Adminiftration, we think ourfelves obliged, in a particu lar Manner, to acknowledge his Majefty's Favour to this Kingdom, in committing the Government into your Excellency's Hands, who difcharged that high Truft with fo great Abilities under his Royal Father.

The diftinguishing Mark of the Confidence of two great Princes, contributes equally to your Honour and the Happiness of this Kingdom; and we affure ourfelves of the greatest Profperity from the Adminiftration of your Excellency, who have omitted no Opportunity to promote the Safety, Honour and Intereft of this Nation; and acknowledge with Gratitude, that it is chiefly owing to your Condu&, that his Majesty's Forces on this Eftablishment have been able to contribute to the difappointing the Attempts of His Enemies.

The Declaration your Excellency has made of His Majesty's gracious Intention to fend back the Troops on this Eftablishment, as foon as the Exigency of his Affairs will permit, and your recommending to us to confider of fuch Laws as may be neceffary for the Good and Safety of this Kingdom, are further Inftances of your conftant Endeavours for our Welfare and Secu rity. We fhall improve this Opportunity of meeting in Parliament, by preparing fuch Laws as may conduce to thofe Ends, and fhall endeavour to deferve the Continuance of his Majefty's Favour and Protection, by chearfully granting fuch Supplies as are neceffary for the Support of his Government with Honour and to fhew by our Unanimity and Dispatch in all our Proceedings, the utmost Regard for your Excellency's

IT is a

is a Pleafure to me that my Zeal for his Majefty's Service, and the Intereft of the Kingdom, is fo agreeable to you: I will use my best Endeavours to deferve the Continuance of your Kindness, by justly representing your Loyalty and Affection to bis Majefty.

The fame Day (November 30th.) the Commons order'd a Bill entituled, an A for the Proceedings of more speedy and effectual Repair of Bridges, in the Several Counties of the Kingdom of Ireland, to be read a fecond time ; which was done accordingly, the next Day, and the faid Bill was committed.

That Day, December 1ft. the Commons proceeded to take into Confideration his Excellency the Lord Lieutenant's Speech to both Houses of Parliament, and the fame being again read; and a Motion A Supply Vomade, That a Supply be granted to bis Majefty; ted. Dec. 2. the fame was order'd to be taken into Confideration, in a grand Committee, the next Morning, when it was, accordingly, confider'd of, and unanimously approved; and afterwards agreed to by the Houfe.

On the 4th a Bill, entitled, An Act for granting and continuing to his Majesty, the additional Duties on Beer, Ale, Strong Waters, Tobac co, and other Goods and Merchandifes; and alfo upon all forts of Wine, Strong Waters, and Spirits perfectly made; and upon all Spirits made and difilled of Wine; and alfa for granting and continuing the feveral farther additional Duties on Beer, Ale, Aquavite, and Strong Waters, brewed and made in this Kingdom; and upon Brandy or Spi

rits above Proof; and on Tea, Coffee, Chocolate, and Cocoa Nuts; was prefented to the Houfe, read the firft Time, and order'd to be read a fecond Time..

On the 5th, the Commons put off to that Day Seven-night the Confideration of the Supply granted to his Majefty, as alfo his Excellency the Lord Lieutenant's Speech, Then the following Papers were laid be fore the Houfe.

Military Establishment, commencing the 26th Day of October 1727.

The Civil Establishment of Ireland,com. mencing the 24th of June 1727.

No. I. A State of the Hereditary Reve. nue and additional Duties for two Years, from the 25th of March 1725, to the 25th of March 1727,

No. II. A State of the Etablishment, and other Charges of Government for two Years, the Civil Lift ending the 25th, and the Military the 31st of March 1727. Together with the Payments claim'd by Cap. Pratt and Mr. Gardiner, in their Abftra&s, and the Arrear remaining unfatisfied.

No. III. A State of the National Account for two Years, from Lady Day 1925, to Lady Day 1727.
