You are herein presented with a few of the ups and downs, the going out and coming in, the rejoicing and the sorrowing, of a poor sinner. To you the language will be readily understood; you having trod the path of tribulation-seen the wonders of God in the deep-and, in answer to prayer, received many a display of rich grace, and many precious deliverances from the God of your Salvation.

There never was a day, in my opinion, when plain, experimental truth was more needed than it is at present; for, notwithstanding the apparent soundness of many in certain doctrinal points, it is to you very manifest that little, very
