FIRST EDITION of one of the best known English works on horses. Though owing much to Italian writers who had preceded him, Blundeville embodied in his work much original information. It is dedicated to Queen Elizabeth's favourite, Robert Dudley, Earl of Leicester. Parts 2, and 4 have separate titles (within, the same woodcut border as is the general title) and series of signatures. The general title and that to the second part bear no date, but the titles to the third and fourth parts are dated 1565 and 1566 respectively.
