This copy has the rare four leaves at end, added after the conclusion of the work, which contain an account of the obsequies of Pius III, in 1549, and of the costly provision made for the refreshment of the numerous Cardinals who attended it.— The continuator of Brunet has, with naivetè, described this addition as the funeral oration on Pius III delivered by his cook! This absurd error arises from a clumsy phrase on the title-page.

OGILVIE GRANT, etc. 27 vols., 8vo., COMPLETE, with 387 fine coloured plates; cloth; SCARCE 1874-98 48 0 0 This work, now complete, may fairly claim to be one of the most important aids to the study of systematic ornithology which has ever been produced.

Almost the last official duty which fell to Sir William Flower in his capacity as Director of the Natural History Departments, before he retired to enjoy a well-earned repose, was to pass through the press the pages of the final volume of the British Museum Catalogue of Birds, a work which may be justly described as the greatest of its kind.
